  • Is there an age requirement?
    Players must be 7 years and older to play Gotcha Low Impact Paintball Adventure Paintball is suitable for 12 years to adults although some younger players may play. Please inquire. All players must understand the safety rules and be able to handle the equipment in a safe manner
  • What paintball version should I choose?
    Gotcha Low Impact is perfect for kids 7 to 12 years old. Parents can play too! Players use a lightweight plastic spring loaded – pump style – single shot rifle. Paintballs are smaller than the regular size paintballs and travel at speeds of 120 fps (feet per second) as opposed to Adventure Paintball where players use an air powered semi auto rifle and paintballs travel at speeds up to 170 fps. The obvious difference is that Low Impact usually doesn’t hurt when you get hit at distances of 20 feet or more, although some smaller children may still consider it ‘painful’ as their pain tolerance is lower. The closest comparison is like being flicked with a rubber band. Regular Adventure Paintball is fun for teens to adults. Younger kids from 12 years may enjoy this version if they are more ‘rough and tumble’ and enjoy sports such as hockey, football, etc. All players must understand the safety rules and be able to handle the equipment in a safe manner. 7 - 11yrs choose Low Impact Paintball 11 - 14yrs choose Low Impact if the kids are more an indoor quiet group 12 -14yrs choose Adventure Paintball for rough & tumble, sporty kids 15yrs + this age group will enjoy Adventure Paintball
  • What are Private Games?
    We encourage groups - big or small - to play by themselves. (Private Games) Even 2 players can enjoy a game of 1 on 1 if they don't feel comfortable playing with other players. You may invite other players to join your group, but that is entirely up to you.
  • How many fields can we play on?
    We currently have 7 fields (maps) to play on. 2 are dedicated to Low Impact paintball only. During regular hours of operation there will be multiple groups at the facility, we run a rotation style of play so all groups get equal access to all fields. In other words, you do not choose only one field to play on. You may play on all available fields.
  • Do I need a minimum number of players?
    During regular hours of operation no minimum numbers of players are required. Even 2 players can enjoy playing paintball on our fields. There is no maximum number of players, although our fields are best suited to no more than 20 players per field. If you have a larger group, it’s best to split into two or more groups. Off Hour bookings require a deposit and minimum number of players apply. Off Hours mean anytime we are not open regular hours, some restrictions apply.
  • Do you accept bookings?
    Yes, we encourage you to book your game as we can be sure to have the equipment and space available for you. Bookings are accepted during regular hours of operation and also Off Hours (anytime we are not open regular hours) Off Hour bookings require a deposit and minimum number of players apply.   • Can we drop in to play?
    Yes, during regular hours of operation you are welcome to drop in. Please be advised: Weekends in the spring and fall tend to be our busiest times and we may not have availability for drop in players. We recommend booking so you are not disappointed. BOOK HERE.
  • How long do we play?
    Your admission fee covers UNLIMITED TIME TO PLAY or until you run out of paintballs. (you may purchase more paintballs at any time) The average time is about 2 – 3 hours total time at the field including set up, playing and breaks between games. When booking we only need to know your arrival time, you decide how long you want to stay, or up until the posted closing time for play. Birthday parties tend to be about 2 hours but this is entirely up to you, again, this is just an average.
  • Do you have Birthday & Group Rates?
    Not specifically. We offer a Pre Paid Discount and you can turn any booking into a party! During the booking process you can select the General Area, a Private Tent or Gazebo. Bring your own food. Private Games at no additional cost and play as long as you have/purchase more paintballs. If you need help booking a Birthday Party or a help with a Group booking
  • Are you open year round?
    No, we are seasonal from Spring to end of October. Hours of operation are here.
  • How long are the games?
    We limit game time to maximum 10 minutes on all fields. YOU MAY PLAY MULTIPLE GAMES until you run out of paintballs. You may take breaks between games and move to another field to play another 10 minute game…repeat until your paintballs are gone or purchase more. You may buy more paintballs during the day. We limit the time on fields as we offer private games for all groups and this way all groups get equal access to all fields. Your admission fee is for the day, not how many games you play.
  • Do all players need to have a waiver signed prior to playing paintball?
    Yes, all players participating in Safari Ridge activities must have a waiver signed prior to play. Players under 19 years old must have a waiver signed by their parent/guardian. Online waivers are now available they will be valid and on file until you inform us otherwise.
  • What should I wear?
    We are an outdoor facility so dress for the weather. We operate rain or shine. Players are encouraged to bring or wear their own clothes suitable for paintball. We recommend that you wear clothes that cover up bare arms and legs - hoodies are great! Paintball splats generally wash out of clothes easily, however, we don’t guarantee it with all materials. If you don’t have clothes suitable for paintball we have rental clothing available at the field for an additional cost. Please wear proper footwear for running. We do not rent shoes. ** Coveralls are not included as they are not essential to play the game with. They may be rented for a small fee
  • Do you have party areas available?
    Yes, we encourage you to have your whole party here! We have an outdoor general area with tables and chairs that's free of charge to use. Please note that multiple parties may be using the area at one time, this area is on a first come basis and cannot be reserved. Private Tents can be reserved and come with a table and chairs. These are rented for max. 2 hours Gazebo with fire pit can be reserved and come with table and chairs. These are rented for max. 2 hours BBQ rental is also available for a small fee to cover propane use. We supply the BBQ, propane, tongs and flippers - you bring your own food, condiments and non-alcoholic beverages. You may also order in pizza, some places deliver - please inquire.
  • How long can we play?

  • Should we show up early?
    No, the time you booked for is your Arrival Time. If you do arrive early we may be able to process you through admissions but we can’t guarantee it if we are busy with other customers. If the gates are closed when you arrive, hang tight we will get them open according to our posted hours
  • Can people join us for the party but not play paintball?
    Yes, family and friends are welcome to watch the games and enjoy your party celebration. We are also Pet Friendly - well behaved pets on a leash are also welcome to join you for the afternoon.
  • What if it rains?
    We are an outdoor facility so dress for the weather. We operate rain or shine. Private tents are available for rent or take cover under our player area shelter.
  • Do you have a freezer for an ice cream cake?
    No, we do not have a freezer. We recommend ordering your ice cream cake from the Dairy Queen which is located 1 km from us at Okanagan Lake Shopping Center (by the movie theater and Shopper's Drug Mart) their phone # 250-769-1056.
  • Can we reserve equipment?
    Sorry, we are not set up to reserve equipment for players. All optional rental equipment is on a first come basis. However, if you have booked your game we will have enough Essential Rental Gear set aside for the number of players you booked for. Please update your player numbers if they have changed from your original booking to ensure we have enough equipment for your group.
  • Making a Pre-Payment
    Making a Pre-Payment REGULAR HOURS OF OPERATION: We offer a 10% discount* for those that make a pre-payment at least 48 hours in advance of their actual play time. Follow link in your confirmation or reminder email to pay online. The link will be available until exactly 48 hours before your arrival time for your booking.   • What if I've prepaid for a player that doesn't show up on game day?
    You may transfer the payment to a new player Sorry, No Refunds Please only pre-pay for those players that are confirmed. You may add them to your group on day of play at the regular admission rate if space allows. OFF HOUR BOOKINGS: minimum number of players must be paid.
  • How does an eTransfer work?
    We accept eTransfers for prepayment discounts. To set one up login to your online banking and select eTransfer. Add Safari Ridge as a payee, our email address is safariridge@gmail.com We have auto deposit set up so no password is needed. It's that easy! and it's free of charge for most personal bank accounts.
  • Off Hour Bookings Deposit
    For Off Hours Bookings payment for the minimum number of players must be made upon booking at least 72 hours in advance of your actual play time so we can arrange staff to open specifically for your group. This payment is the admission/essential rental package for the minimum number of players required. Additional players may join and pay upon arrival. Paintballs can be purchased on game day.   • Do you offer discounts on the day of play?
    No, we do not offer any discounts on day of play. However, we do offer pre-paid discounts for booked groups of any size during regular hours of operation. Pre-payment must be received at least 48 hours in advance of your actual game time. Payment must be made in a lump sum, individual payments are not accepted. Please let us know if you have Status so that we can remove the tax, card must be shown upon arrival and manifest must be signed for verification.
  • Do you have online booking?
    Yes, we encourage you to book your game as we can be sure to have the equipment and space available for you. Bookings are accepted during regular hours of operation and also Off Hours (anytime we are not open regular hours) Off Hour bookings require a deposit and minimum number of players apply.   • I can't find where to book the Low Impact paintball?
    Choose the regular paintball booking button and in the booking process you will select what type of paintball you would like to play. Once you have booked, you can change the type of paintball if it better suits your group.
  • Why can’t I book a game for today online?
    Our booking system only allows you to make a booking at least 12 hours in advance. If you can’t choose the time you want, it’s within the 12 hour time frame. Please contact the field directly. If we have space available, we’ll gladly make a booking for you.
  • Why does it only give me 15 minutes or half hour playtime?
    By default it shows 15 or 30 minute time slots, this is NOT your allotted game time. The time you choose is only your arrival time, you may stay and play for as long as you would like up until regular daily closing or until you run out of paintballs.
  • How long do we book for?
    Paintball admission is for unlimited play time. In other words, you may play as long as you have paintballs. The typical time period is 2 – 3 hours including set up, play time and breaks between games including lunch or snacks, if applicable. Most birthday parties like to keep it around the 2 hour mark, but that’s entirely up to you. We do not have adequate lighting on the fields so we are limited to natural daylight hours.
  • What if I don’t know how many players I have confirmed?
    We just need an estimate for your initial booking, closer to the day of play and once you have confirmations we can update your booking accordingly. In the booking process select the maximum amount of players you plan to have. Off Hour booking require a minimum amount. If you are making a pre-payment to receive the discount, ONLY PAY FOR CONFIRMED PLAYERS. Additional players may join your group on game day and pay upon arrival at the regular price if space is available.
  • Can I change my date and/or time?
    Yes, you may log into your booking and make the change yourself or call us directly and we can help you.
  • Do I have to play during regular hours?
    No, we offer Off Hours Bookings for those that can’t play during regular hours of operation. Please note that minimum numbers of player and a non-refundable deposit is required at least 72 hours (3 days) in advance of your actual play time. Sorry, No discounts are available for Off Hour Bookings.
  • What does Off Hours mean?
    Off Hours means anytime we are not open regular hours. For Off Hours Bookings a payment upon booking for the minimum players required must be made at least 72 hours (3 days) in advance of your actual play time so we can arrange staff to open specifically for your group. Deposit is the total amount for the minimum number of players required, more players may be added and they may pay upon arrival. Sorry, No discounts are available for Off Hour Bookings.

  • Will you call me to take my pre-payment?

  • Can I cancel my booking?
    If you need to cancel your booking please let us know as soon as possible so we can open the spot for others. You may cancel your booking, without penalty, anytime up until noted time in advance of your arrival. ​ REGULAR HOUR BOOKINGS, Pre-payment received: You may cancel with full refund (if paid) up to 48 hours in advance or your arrival Within 48 hours of your actual booking, credit or rescheduling is allowed within 60 days. A 25% administration fee applied for refunds. Within 24 hours of start time: Sorry, No Refunds. For pre paid players that do not show up you are welcome to transfer their payment to another player that may join your group. Payment can not be used for other purchases. ​ OFF HOUR BOOKINGS You may cancel with a full refund up to 72 hours in advance Within 72 hours of your actual booking all payments are non-refundable, no credits or rescheduling allowed. Within this time frame no other bookings can be made and we have already scheduled staff to open and allocated that time for your group.
  • Why do you need to know players names?
    This just helps us get you processed through admissions and get you out to play quicker. First names are only needed, although full names are required for the waiver form.
  • When do you close for the season?
    We stay open until end of October, weather permitting.
  • What comes with the Essential Rental Package?
    mandatory full-face safety mask/goggles semi-automatic paintball rifle or pump-style spring loaded low impact rifle loader to hold your paintballs all air fills you need to power the gun. (Adventure Paintball) Paintballs and Optional Rental Gear are sold separately. Players are welcome to bring their own paintball equipment to use at our field, please ensure that it is checked in and chronographed prior to play.
  • Are paintballs included with the Admission or Rental Gear?
    No, not unless otherwise stated in your package price. Everyone goes through different amounts so we leave it up to you to decide how many to purchase. Estimate 200 - 300 paintballs per person for a fun day of play, however this number will change depending on how many games you actually play and how Trigger Happy you are. We have bulk paintballs to share with your group. All paintballs must be purchased at Safari Ridge.
  • Can I bring my own paintballs?
    No, we are in the business of selling paintballs. All paintballs must be purchased at Safari Ridge. We only use high quality premium paintballs with our logo on them. Bringing paintballs to our field is like bringing your own food to a restaurant.
  • How long will my paintballs last?
    This all depends on how fast you pull the trigger and how many games you actually play. As a general average, figure on approximately 30-50 paintballs per person per game. Some players go through many more and some less than this estimate. 100 bag is usually used by one or two players just to top up. 500 bag is usually shared among 1 - 3 players 2000 case of paintballs is usually shared by 7 - 10 players.
  • Does it hurt if I get hit with a paintball?
    Well..... you can usually feel it. It can be like catching a baseball in your hand, there is an initial ‘ouch’ but it fades quickly. Getting hit on bare skin can be a little more painful, that’s why we suggest you wear clothes to cover up bare arms and legs. Loose, baggy clothes are best, but not too big - you still have to run around without them falling off! The loose fabric absorbs much of the hit so you are less likely to feel anything on your body. Also, your adrenaline is pumping so high that sometimes you can’t even feel the paintball at all! In short, the excitement of the game outweighs the pain factor for most players. If you are still concerned, ask about our new line of Rhinohide Gear™. These lightweight outfits are specially designed to provide protection for your entire body in a two piece jacket and pants outfit. They may be rented individually or as a set. Paintballs hurt enough that you don't want to get hit, but not enough that you want to Quit! We also offer Gotcha Low Impact Paintball as an alternative and perfect for kids 7 years and up.
  • What should I wear?

  • Do you supply coveralls?
    Coveralls & additional protective gear are not essential, so we do not include them in the Essential Rental Gear package. We do, however, rent coveralls for a small fee. Coveralls are washed after each use. We encourage players to bring or wear their own clothes suitable for outdoor play and the weather. Please wear footwear suitable for running as we do not rent shoes.
  • Does the paint wash out of clothes?
    Yes, it washes out of our coveralls easily with cold water. WE DO NOT GUARANTEE IT WASHES OUT OF ALL MATERIAL. Do not wear anything that can't get dirty, torn or ripped. We're not saying that your clothes will get 'wrecked' but you are playing in a natural outdoor environment, so new clothes are not advised.
  • Do you have protective gear available?
    Yes, we rent a variety of protective gear. It is not considered essential so it can be rented due to personal preference.
  • Are protective goggles included?
    Yes, protective goggles/mask is mandatory and included with the Essential Rentals Gear package. Most eyeglasses fit comfortably under the mask. Goggles/Masks are thoroughly washed and sanitized after each use.
  • Can I upgrade my equipment?
    Yes, if you are playing Adventure Paintball you may upgrade your basic gun to a sniper rifle or Uzzie style with or without a sniper barrel on it. Gotcha Low Impact paintball is played with a pump-style spring loaded rifle. No upgrades are available.
  • Do you fill C02 bottles?
    No, we only fill compressed air tanks up to 3000/psi (we have an auto shut off for safety so we can't fill 4500/psi tanks completely full) If your tank has a gauge and a fill nipple at the top of the tank, chances are that we can fill your tank. Usually the tanks are 6 - 8 inches in diameter and are 3000/psi or 4500/psi Army Surplus is the only store we know of still filling C02. They are located on Dayton St. off Springfield near ICBC.
  • Do you repair personal equipment?
    No, we do not repair, service, buy or sell personal equipment. We are only a rental field and service our own equipment. The local paintball store has closed, we recommend purchasing equipment on PaintballGear.ca or Badlandspaintball
